Butler has been playing soccer for seven years. He has been on the Republic’s FC’s United States Developmental Academy playing for both its U-13/14 and U-15/16 teams. He is also currently a member of the Republic’s U-17 Academy team. He will retain spots on both rosters and has chosen to be home schooled this year which will allow him to keep with team’s schedule. Since playing soccer, Butler has traveled all over the U.S and to Canada and Mexico. His team’s games have also been featured on television. Butler, who has appeared in 34 matches for Republic’s FC U-16 Academy team last year, including 26 starts, scored 10 goals last season including one on play-off action. His career numbers for Republic FC are just as impressive, scoring 26 goals in 64 game appearances. Just starting his junior year, Quincy has already garnered interest from major colleges from around the country. He has received interest from University of California Santa Barbara, Cal Poly, Notre Dame, Yale, Penn State, University of Pittsburgh just to name a few. The Republic currently plays at Papa Murphy’s Park which is located on the grounds of Cal Expo in Sacramento. Quincy is the son of Kristin and Ryan Butler of Sacramento, the grandson of Vivian and Nate Butler and nephew of Charissa Butler, all of Corcoran. Quincy also has an older sister, Ryan and younger brother Reese.
